So the Journey Begins...

First official blog. I have been wanting to do this for so long. There is something about writing my thoughts and feelings out to the world anonymously that appeals to me. I am not too sure where I want to start, but I figure a small introduction might work just fine. I'm Canadian. And I love it. And I am a small town girl. These two small things have shaped me hugely into who I am and what this blog will contain. I am huge on family and friends, believe in God, an animal lover and people person, and an optimist. I have had my hardships growing up so far, between family, school and everything in between, but overall I am a happy-go-lucky kinda girl. Anything from my life may end up on here. Anything and everything. It may range from simple thoughts and good days to a post about something I've contemplated about in depth for a long period of time. Anything posted by me may be free form, but there will probably be some poems posted on here as well. This blog is going to allow you to see a bit of me, the true me. I am going to be completely honest and true. But this blog isn't just about me, it's about my long time friend as well. This, readers, is a joint blog. I challenge you to read often and distinguish us by our own unique 'voices'. Say hello to my partner in crime.

haha. Thanks for leading the way! Well as you probably have guessed I am Canadian and a small town girl as well. We have actually known each other for quite a long time and know what each other has gone through to become the people we are today. I am also a family / friends person, believe in God, an animal fanatic, and love my sports! I have gone through some challenging obstacles the last year or so, dealing with the who I want to be and forming it into reality as well with the troubles of school, family, and money. I am your typical girl-next-door who sees the good in everyone. This blog is basically just to show my thoughts to the world and have one person be like... hey I totally get that! Hope you all enjoy our insights and get to just sit back, relax, and dive right in to some (hopefully) fantastic reading!!!

Consistently Inconsistent

I've certainly proven that I'm unable to regularly journal or blog. That I'm pulled to write when things are bad or awry or beyond my control, but rarely in a time where I feel joy, happiness or am at peace with things. We all know I'm here, journaling again, because I'm in my head. Feeling. Reflecting. Likely overthinking. As to be expected - consistently inconsistent.  I've been pushing myself for months now. Focusing on doing more, achieving more, earning more, finding more....always more . And I am so t i r e d. Somewhere along the way of trying to redefine myself and achieve goals I had set for myself, I lost sight of why I was doing things. What was motivating me. Why I set these goals.

Tick Tock

Tick Tock Tick tock That's the sound I hear, every time I debate changing something. That's the sound I hear when I wonder if the work I'm doing is enough It's the sound I hear when I wonder how I can make a bigger, better impact It's the sound I hear when I question my purpose and abilities Tick Tock…Tick Tock…Tick Tock. Over and over, I hear that same sound. Am I ready for a car? A house? A family? Tick Tock.  Will I ever be?

Moving Forward

New year, new goals. For so many of us, our goals or 'resolutions' created every new year quickly dissipate.  I'm not sure if it lack of focus, lack of time, lack of determination or simply slacking.  It doesn't truly matter why so many of us cannot follow through on our goals, at least that isn't my point.  My point is that many of us enter every new year with a new goal, a new outlook...striving for improvement, for change. And for once, I'm excited. I'm not going to rehash my 2012 year for you- it was the standard ups and downs and you all can relate in your own way.  Rather I want to focus on the future.  One of my biggest goals is to conquer my anxiety and kick it to the curb.  I am so tired of it controlling many aspects of my life.  I want to live again.  I want to stop the doubt, the fear, the uncertainty, and the worrying.  The past 4 and a half months have been eye opening for me, and I feel like I've already come so far.  I...
